Ursula Renold


Ursula Renold heads a research centre for comparative education system at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich. She is also Chairman of the University Board of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Northwestern Switzerland. She was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to this, Ursula was Director General of the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (OPET) until June 2012. In this position she has headed Switzerland‘s competence centre for professional education, universities of applied sciences, and innovation since 2005.

Before becoming Director General,Ursula was head of OPET’s Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) Division and Director of the Swiss Federal Institute of Vocational Education and Training. Ursula has launched numerous initiatives which have great impact on VPET system in Switzerland. She holds an honorary Professorship in Professional Education at the University of Applied Labour Studies in Mannheim (Germany).
